The St. John's SAGES is an active 50+ group for those in the congregation who are retired but continue to be actively engaged in the life of the parish. SAGES arranges trips, social events, and activities. Come join us!
St. John SAGES to Visit Mt. Vernon
Thursday, May 14
Join us to tour Mt. Vernon at the peak of spring blossoms on Thursday, May 14. The Visitor Center and Museum have been greatly expanded and feature all sorts of new exhibits and films about our First President and his life and times. We will also be entertained before lunch by a costumed colonial era “character,” and enjoy a 3-course lunch at the Mt. Vernon Inn, which has the Hannons’ seal of approval. Mt. Vernon has a very extensive gift shop as well. In the afternoon, we will visit Washington’s Gristmill and Distillery (sorry, no free samples!), a short ride from the main estate.
We depart from St. John’s at 8:30 a.m., and will return before 5:00 p.m. The price is $65 per person, all-inclusive. To meet our obligations to Mt. Vernon, we MUST have your money by Monday, May 4. We have a 24-person bus. This is first come, first served. Checks should be payable to St. John’s Church with the memo line SAGES Mt. Vernon trip.
