Choral Evensong
Sunday, October 11 at 5:00 pm
Experience a peaceful evening of beautiful music and reflection at our upcoming Choral Evensong, a distinctive Northern Virginia tradition. This inviting service blends ancient choral liturgy into a contemplative hour of peace, offering you a quiet space to unwind, think, and pray while thirteen of our region’s finest professional choristers and guest organist Adam Detzner lead the worship. Featuring the stunning music of Amy Beach, Käthe Wright Kaufman, Charles Villiers Stanford, and Annabel Rooney, this free event concludes with a friendly reception in Shears Hall, and all are welcome. Sponsored by the Music Fund.
Choral Evensong at St. John's happens every fourth Sunday at 5:00 pm!

About the Organ
The organ in St. John's Church was renovated and expanded as part of a major building project in 2000. Work was done by Michael Hart and Bard Wickkiser and the staff of the Di Gennaro-Hart Organ Company of Washington, D.C. Learn more.
The Music Fund
The Music Fund supports expenses outside St. John’s yearly music budget: hiring additional instrumentalists and singers for worship, sponsoring concerts, purchasing miscellaneous items such as music stands and choir folders, and seeding initiatives such as our new Second Sunday Evensong. You can donate either online or by check payable to St. John’s Church with “Music Fund” on the memo line. Thank you for your support of the Music Fund.
